Chicago Executive Airport (PWK)
North of the city in Wheeling, Chicago Executive Airport is our pick for the affluent suburbs, with three FBOs and no airline traffic to wait behind. Its longest runway runs 5,001 feet, suited to light and midsize cabins. Chicago Executive operates under established noise-abatement procedures, so late-night trips deserve an aircraft-and-operating-hours check before finalizing the itinerary.
DuPage Airport (DPA)
When you need more runway, DuPage Airport is the fit for the west. Its primary runway runs 7,571 feet, the longest in the region outside O’Hare, and the field carries four active runways with two ILS approaches. That takes anything up to a Boeing Business Jet without strain, and U.S. Customs sits on the first floor of the FBO around the clock. The roads run straight into Naperville and Oak Brook, so you skip the center entirely.

What the Hourly Number Covers
Where the number lands depends first on which cabin you fly, then on how far and when. We keep a published rate list so you can see where each category opens, and the quote itemizes the charges behind the total rather than presenting the hourly figure as the complete trip cost. Passengers whose plans can bend a day either way should mention it to us, since a jet already heading your way can change the math, and that picture shifts by the hour:
- Hourly rates exclude positioning, landing fees, fuel surcharge, and catering.
- Taxi time is billed at 12 minutes per leg, in addition to actual flight time.
- Turboprops, super light, light, and medium jets carry a two-hour minimum.
- Super medium, heavy, and jumbo jets carry a three-hour minimum.
- Federal excise tax of 7.5%, or a comparable international fee, is not included.
- Hourly rates are estimates and remain subject to change.
