The British Aerospace HS125-800 became the Hawker 800 in mid-1993 when Raytheon purchased BAe’s Corporate Jets division. Production was transferred to Raytheon in Wichita (the first US-built 800 flew on November 5, 1996, the last UK built 800 on April 29, 1997). The 800 was replaced by the 850XP which was certified in March 2006. The planes are identical except for the upgraded avionics, interior, and the addition of winglets.
